Biography Paul qualified from Plymouth
University with a 2:1 BEng (Hons) in Communications Engineering
but he realised that he wanted to undertake public service and
went on to qualify with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education
focused on Craft, Design and Technology at Secondary level.
After teaching in Essex for 11 years and progressing in school roles to a Senior Leadership role and completing the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers, Paul achieved a promotion to the position of Deputy Headteacher at The Wey Valley School in Weymouth, a role he would undertake for the following 15 years. In 2019 Paul resigned his position and after a brief break took up a post as a supply teacher for Pro-Education placed at Budmouth Academy. This became a permanent teaching post with the Academy in November 2019. Alongside teaching Paul has a passion for educational research. This led to the completion of a Masters degree with Anglia Polytechnic University and Ultralab, focused on educational technology and particularly Computer-based learning. At this time he also qualified as a Certified Cisco Academy Instructor. He has subsequently completed a Professional Doctorate in Education with Plymouth University, focused on Headteacher Experiences and Perceptions of Rapid Policy Reform in English Secondary Schools. Further periods of research have led to Paul publishing work through the DfES Best Practice Research Scholarship programme and the National College for School Leadership Research Associate Programme.
